For the client’s first foray into mixed-use development in southwest China, we was tasked with a daunting challenge: turn an otherwise dormant site into a thriving center of leisure, entertainment, culture and creativity. Central World is a new paradigm of lifestyle center experience, which appealed to the locals’ love for the outdoors. The inside-out shopping center, an architectural reinterpretation of China’s beloved scenic treasure Valley with its colorful calcified terraces and waterfalls, offers multi-level gardens that contrast with its massive yet dynamic stone walls.
